Meridian Recruitment & Consulting is committed to protecting

What is Personal Information?
Personal Information is any information or opinion about you. It
can range from the very sensitive (e.g. medical history or condition,
racial or ethnic origin, criminal record or political opinion) to
the every day (e.g. address and phone number). It would include
the opinion of others about your work performance, your work experience
and qualifications, results of aptitude and psychological assessment,
psychometric evaluations and any other information supplied to us
in relation to finding appropriate work to you.
Sensitive Information
You will not be required to disclose any Personal Sensitive Information
to Meridian Recruitment & Consulting unless it is expressly
required to perform a permanent or temporary placement introduced
by Meridian Recruitment & Consulting, such as high security
organisations where security clearances are required. In these situations
refusal to do so may result in the prevention of being considered
for those roles as they may contravene the Client's specific employment
conditions. The sensitive information you provide will be removed
before we submit your details to prospective Clients. Sensitive
Information may include information or opinions about an individual's
racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership to a political
association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs,
membership of a trade union, sexual preferences or practices, criminal
record, or health information about an individual.
Who and How we will be collecting your Personal Information
Your personal information will be collected by Meridian Recruitment
& Consulting for its own use, directly from a telephone conversation/interview,
personal interview, when you provide us with your CV/resume or other
information in relation to the recruitment process. In some cases
personal information may be collected from third parties.
Personal Information may be collected, but not limited to, if:
we conduct search activities to identify potential candidates;
we conduct reference checks about you, from former employers,
work colleagues, professional associations or registration bodies;
we receive performance feedback/results of any competency
or medical test;
we receive any complaint from or about you in the workplace;
we receive any information about a workplace accident in
which you were involved;
we receive any information about any insurance investigation,
litigation, registration or professional disciplinary matter, criminal
matter, inquest or inquiry in which you were involved; and
you provide us with any additional information about you.
How your Personal Information will be used
Your Personal Information may be used only after your consent and
in connection with:
your actual or potential work placement;
payment for work completed on a job placement;
your performance appraisals;
our assessment of your ongoing performance and prospects;
any test or assessment (including medical tests and assessments)
that you might be required to undergo;
our identification of your training needs;
any workplace rehabilitation;
our management of any complaint, investigation or inquiry
in which you are involved; and
conduct by us of any quality assurance audits.
If you do not provide us with the information we seek;
we may be limited in our ability to locate suitable work
for you; and
we may be limited in our ability to place you in work.
Access to your Personal Information
You have a right to see and have a copy of personal information
we hold about you, subject to some exceptions which are set out
in the National Privacy Principles (Principle 6 Access and
Correction). If during that process you are able to establish that
any of the Personal Information we hold about you is not accurate,
complete or up to date, we are required to take reasonable steps
to correct it so that the integrity of the Personal Information
is restored. If you would like to request access to any Personal
Information held by us, please contact us on our general telephone
number. We will require 48 hours notice for your intention to see
your file, and an administration fee of AUD$70 will apply.
